SUSSEX COAST COLLEGE DEGREE SHOW

Degree show image

The 2011 Sussex Coast College Art and Design Degree show will run from June 20 - July 01 at the Circle Gallery Station Plaza, and F-ISH Gallery Robertson Street Hastings. The show represents the culmination of a research driven year, and showcases the work of 24 artists and designers spanning a range of specialist subject areas, from Illustration to Installation, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and image-based Design.

Graduate work is curated across the 2 galleries in order to emphasise the interdisciplinary nature of the course. Diversity of process, technical excellence and conceptual innovation is apparent throughout the exhibition. Andrew Robey, programme leader for the Art & Design degree programme, says: 'This is an outstanding display of imagination and ambition from award-winning Sussex Coast College Learners, and I congratulate all our students on their achievements'. The college's Art and Design reputation is a proven force to be reckoned with having won over 30 industry bench mark awards during the past 8 years.

'Our students continue to examine the tensions and opportunities arising from cross-border subject exploration, both within and between Art and Design' says Andrew Robey. Head of the Art Division, Martin Symons, is encouraging people to come along and enjoy this and other forthcoming free exhibitions: 'Come and share in our success. All are welcome and our students will be happy to discuss their work'.
